Chinese Gastronomy Association

The Chinese Gastronomy Association (CGA) was founded in July 2017 in Hong Kong, China. In February 2018, it officially joined the International Academy of Gastronomy, becoming its exclusive association in the Greater China region. The association gathers senior Chinese food enthusiasts and professional gastronomes, with a mission to create the "Chinese Gastronomy Lifestyle Community" and promote the development of "Chinese Gastronomy Quality Standards." They are dedicated to leading the internationalisation of a new Chinese gastrnonomy trend, promoting the spread of healthy and high-quality dietary practices in China, and striving to create a new era of Chinese gastronomy culture that is "chinese, beautiful, healthy, joyful, and ecological."

 

 

 

"Chinese Gastronomy": Upholding the spirit of inheriting the profound and extensive Chinese Gastronomy culture, the Chinese Gastronomy Association will share the taste and history of Chinese cuisine with the world from a new perspective and redefine the global image of authentic Chinese cuisine in the modern era.

 

"Culturel Gastronomy": Collaborating with enthusiasts of various Chinese culinary styles, the Chinese Gastronomy Association will encourage and support individuals or organisations contributing to the improvement of Chinese gastronomy craftsmanship, actively seek to protect regional and local culinary cultural heritage.

 

"Healthy Gastronomy": the Chinese Gastronomy Association recognises the significant impact of diet on public physical and mental health, traces back to explore new Chinese gastronomic experiences with natural ingredients on a global scale and focus on the safety of quality global food supply from the source to the table.

 

"Joyful Gastronomy": Emphasising the integration and innovation of life aesthetics and Chinese gastronomy, the Chinese Gastronomy Association will deeply research and develop the cross-disciplinary sharing and scenario applications of the gastronomy lifestyle, promoting a positive direction for balanced diets for a better lifestyle in the new era.

 

"Ecological Gastronomy": the Chinese Gastronomy Association maintains long-term cooperation with the International Academy of Gastronomy and other international organisations. The Chinese Gastronomy Association is dedicated to advancing research and development in the sustainability and environmental friendliness of the Chinese gastronomy industry, aiming to address environmental issues in agriculture and the catering industry in China.

 

 

 

In 2019, representatives from member associations of  the International Academy of Gastronomy visited the Chinese Gastronomy Association. Together with Chinese gastronome members, they explored the culinary capital of the southeastern region of China and jointly witnessed the establishment of the "China International Gastronomes Top 100."

 

 

In 2021, the Chinese Gastronomy Association assisted the Shenzhen municipal government in organizing the first "Chaozhou-Shantou Gastronomy Culture Festival" and the first "Hakka Gastronomy Culture Festival." These events aimed to encourage the protection and inheritance of a batch of culinary non-material cultural heritage.
